On September 27, 2019, Ken Rollins and Kate Deringer Sallie will present Diversity & The Board Evaluation Process at the Pennsylvania Association of Community Bankers’ 2019 Annual Convention, which will take place over four days at The Broadmoor Resort in Colorado Springs, CO.  Their session will review recent research regarding the performance of companies having diverse boards. Kate and Ken will provide examples of communications recently received from concerned shareholders, propose appropriate responsive communications and actions, and explore how a robust board evaluation and director succession process offers opportunities to address a lack of diversity.

Cory Iannacone and Lindsey Snavely will present of Negotiating to Win: Getting Everything While Giving Nothing as a Webinar on July 24, 2019 for the Pennsylvania State Association of Township Supervisors.  Cory and Lindsey previously presented Negotiating to Win in April 2019 at the PSATS’s annual conference held in Hershey, PA and also at the Pennsylvania Bar Institute’s Employment Law Institute held later that month in Philadelphia, PA.  The presentation has received overwhelming positive feedback on how it offers an alternative approach to navigate the most difficult of negotiations.

On June 4, 2019, Todd Shill and John Martin will close out the Pennsylvania Association of Court Management’s Semi-Annual Conference at the Nittany Lion Inn in State College, PA.  Todd and John will be discussing issues related to social media and the issues and challenges they present for courts, judges, and the judicial system as a whole.  Topics will range from employment-related matters and First Amendment issues, to concerns about jurors and the constantly evolving landscape of judicial ethics.

On May 17, 2019, John Martin will be a presenter at this year’s PCUA Connect Conference, which will take place over three days at the Hershey Lodge.  John will be discussing a wide range of common-yet-challenging HR issues that keep an employment lawyer’s phone ringing off the hook.  Topics will include, among other things: wage and hour issues, best practices for discipline and termination, and ADA reasonable accommodation pitfalls.
