With an extensive background in bankruptcy and corporate finance law, Kate has notable experience in Delaware representing debtors, creditors, lenders, and trustees in numerous mega-bankruptcy reorganizations and liquidations. She has also represented debtors and secured creditors, including banks and other lending institutions, in Chapter 7, 11 and 13 bankruptcy cases, sales, structured liquidations, restructurings, and other alternatives to bankruptcy. Kate has deep experience in creditors’ rights, loan workouts, and commercial lending transactions, and is well versed in all areas of corporate law and commercial transactions relevant to your business.
The Penn State University Dickinson School of Law graduate is also a frequent speaker on lending litigation and the subject of business reorganization. She continues her involvement at her alma mater by serving as a practitioner instructor. She is a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC), and the Turnaround Management Association. Kate currently serves as co-chair of the Board of Directors for the IWIRC Greater Philadelphia Network. Kate is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, the State of Delaware, the District and Bankruptcy Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Pennsylvania, and the District and Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
Kate has been honored as a 2013 Women of Influence, a 2015 Select Lawyer for Susquehanna Valley, a Central Pennsylvania Business Journal “Forty under 40 award” recipient in 2016, and the PA Bankers Champion of Women award winner in 2018. Kate was named Best Lawyers’ 2022 Lawyer of the Year for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights/Insolvency and Reorganization Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and was included on the Power 30 List for Law and Lobbyists in Central Pennsylvania for 2022.
